Jeff Deboma - Design Engineer
2017-Present: JD Draftworks
In 2017, I formed JD Draftworks, a design/drafting service for commercial and residential interior. Since my inception, I’ve had the opportunity to work with contractors, consulting firms, and interior designers to create health care spaces, a large-scale casino ,corporate offices, fine-dining restaurants, and residential homes. With nearly a decade of experience, my attention to detail has allowed me to execute projects accurately and develop strong relationships in the industry.
2015-2017: Silver Star Industries, Inc.
Expanding my experience in commercial design, I relocated to Portland, OR for a project management position under Silver Star Industries, a millwork/metal company specializing in custom retail spaces. Our largest projects consisted of spaces in major international airports all over the country. My focus as a Project Manager allowed me to have initial contact with the clients and follow the project closely to optimize fabrication, delivery and final installation. My time here also allowed me to work with well-known companies such as North Face, REI, and Skechers.
2013-2015: Custom Source Woodworking, Inc.
My first true venture in commercial design was through Custom Source Woodworking in Olympia, WA. The company’s focus was custom interiors in hospitality and food services. CSW is mainly known for their involvement with high-end restaurants like The Capital Grille and Seasons 52, both worthy of a Michelin star. My role was engineering custom areas consisting of both intricate joinery and metal application. My other tasks included ordering hardware and materials, creating CNC nested patterns for production, and providing detailed shop drawings.
2011-2013: Westport Shipyard, Inc.
I began my career in 2011 as a junior designer for Westport Shipyards, a luxury mega-yacht company based in Port Angeles, WA. After my evaluation period, I was offered a full-time position in the engineering department. Initially focusing on redlines and revisions, I was eventually assigned larger scopes and areas, producing fabrication drawings for all custom millwork.
